Privacy Policy — Tab Group Saver

Last updated: August 28, 2026

Summary

Tab Group Saver does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. All of your data stays on your own computer.

What the extension stores, and where

Tab Group Saver backs up your Chrome tab groups: group names, group colors, and the URLs and titles of the tabs inside each group. These backups are stored exclusively in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere. Uninstalling the extension deletes this data.

The optional JSON export feature saves a backup file to a location you choose on your own computer. Nothing is sent over the network.

The only network request: license verification

If — and only if — you enter a license key to activate the paid tier, the extension sends that license key to the Gumroad License API (api.gumroad.com) to confirm the purchase, and periodically re-confirms it. No browsing data, no tab URLs, no backups, and no personal information are included in this request — only the license key and the product identifier. Gumroad's handling of purchase data is governed by Gumroad's privacy policy. If you never enter a license key, the extension makes no network requests at all.
